The Beginnings of a Blog

In a perfect world, I would've started this blog over three years ago when we first had Colin.  In a less than perfect world, I'm starting this blog 3+ years later, after we've had Colin and Amelia (who turned 10 weeks old today).  Alas, our life is not perfect.  But, blogging will give me a way to keep track of the big, and not so big things, that happen in our lives.

Yesterday was Colin's first day of preschool.  He was insanely excited about going, though we've only been building it up for a few days before hand.  We had originally signed him up for 2 mornings a week at a preschool only to find out two weeks before he was supposed to start that they weren't opening.  We were lucky to get one morning a week at another school, and are hoping to get him in for another morning a week.  Of course, he continues to go to our fabulous home daycare two days a week, despite the fact that I'm currently on mat leave with the little one.

We got all dressed for preschool, and took pictures (so that in all my spare time -- haha! -- I can scrapbook them later) and headed out.  We arrived, went in and found a hook, stuck on a nametag, and he was off.  Into the room, playing with toys.  I went in, asked if he wanted me to stay.  Nope, he was fine, thankyouverymuch.  A hug and a kiss, and Amelia and I were on our way for a girls' morning of Starbucks and shopping.  When I arrived (2 minutes late) to pick him up, he was happy to see me, but full of stories to share with me of his morning at school.  And, the beginnings of an art gallery have already started coming home with him.

Today, we're enjoying a beautiful last day of summer, with wonderful weather (soon to turn ugly tonight when the rain moves in for a few days).  We went out shopping this morning to find something for Colin to wear to Amelia's baptism on Sunday (scored a cute little button down) and we'll head to the park soon to play for a bit.
