15 weeks

Dear Amelia -

I cannot believe that you've already been a part of our lives for 15 weeks!  In the last 15 weeks, we've mastered the art of breastfeeding (something your brother never was able to figure out), seen your first smile (and the many many more that have followed), heard your first laugh, seen you <--thisclose--> to rolling over for the first time (we're still waiting on that one) and loved you more and more each day.

As much as I don't want to think that my mat leave is going quickly, I know it is -- afterall, it's already 15 weeks over!  There's still 37 left -- but I know they'll go quickly!  Sunday is already Hallowe'en.  Your first Christmas will be here before we know it, then your first trip to Walt Disney World in January (and Mommy's 30th birthday 1st Anniversary of her 29th Birthday).  I wish time would stand still sometimes, just so I can continue enjoying my time home with you and your brother.

Love you through and through Lovebug -- yesterday, today and tomorrow too.

Monkey-ism

Colin: Mommy, I very love you.

sigh.  I love him.

Ugh.

Last night was one of the those nights.  One of those nights where everything just kind of snowballs into me being up for an hour.

Colin woke up about 3:40 - crying.  Go into his room and he's soaked - colossal Pullup failure.  So, change him, change the bed, get back into bed annnnndddd....Amelia's awake.  So, back out of bed, get her changed, fed, sleeping and back into bed... only to hear "Mommy...I have to pee".  So, get Colin peed and back into bed.  Get back into bed and see Amelia entirely awake in her crib over the monitor.  Two more trips to replace choocho and she's finally asleep.

And I am, until Michael leaves at 6 for his course downtown.  And until 6:40 when his alarm goes off.  And then until 7:00, when Colin decides he'd like to be up for the day.  And until 7:20 when Amelia decides to be up for the day.

Sigh.  Perhaps the planets will align and we'll ALL sleep this afternoon....hahahaha!

But, I did manage to squeeze in a shower and a blowdry (score!) and the whole ordeal last night was made better by a hug and a "I like your hair Mommy" this morning.

It's those moments that make this whole mommy thing worthwhile.
